LUXEMBOURG-Gemplus International S.A. and SoloMio announced a strategic partnership to jointly market and develop call-management and call-completion solutions for subscriber identity module cards.
The companies said they are working together to develop over-the-air solutions for wider market deployment.
As part of the partnership, GemVentures, the corporate venture-capital fund of Gemplus, will have a minority equity interest in SoloMio. In addition, Philippe Vallee, head of Gemplus’ Telecom Business Unit, will join the SoloMio board of directors. SoloMio has joined Gemplus’ partner program.
