HP, Nokia extend outsourcing pact

PALO ALTO, Calif.-Hewlett Packard Co. said it has signed a five-year, $100 million agreement with Nokia Corp. to continue to provide global information technology outsourcing services for Nokia’s 51,000 employees around the world.

Both companies have been working together on the project since 2001.

“HP will move from a technology and operationally driven service model to a business-needs and service-level driven model,” said Francesco Serafini, senior vice president and general manager, technology solutions for Europe, Middle East and Africa at HP. “Through this standardization of services and the new approach for Nokia, HP will help Nokia achieve additional significant cost savings.”
