Motorola gets five-year Verizon FTTP contract

NEW YORK-Verizon Communications Inc. has awarded a five-year contract to Motorola Inc. to supply equipment for the carrier’s next-generation fiber-to-the-premises networks.

Verizon’s FTTP services will include broadband, video entertainment and voice services to residential and business customers. Terms of the deal were not released.

Verizon currently is deploying FTTP in half of the states it serves. Motorola last year signed an agreement with Verizon to help build the video network infrastructure portion of its FTTP systems.
