ATLANTA-Cingular Wireless L.L.C. and BIO-key International Inc. teamed to deploy a new wireless handheld information solution targeted at federal and local law enforcement agencies.
The product allows field officers to access National Crime Information Center and other data using BlackBerry devices and Pocket PC-based wireless personal digital assistants equipped with BIO-key’s PocketCOP software. The PocketCOP software provides real-time access to vehicle registration information, stolen vehicle information, weapons registration, and wants and warrant information.
Among the first customers for the solution are the U.S. Capitol Police, Federal Protective Services and the Oklahoma County Sheriff Office, said the companies.
