SURREY, United Kingdom-Argo Interactive Group plc announced it acquired rival ACTeSys GmbH for $4 million in cash. The combined company will operate under the Argogroup name, and expects to offer a suite of end-to-end testing and monitoring solutions to wireless carriers.
Privately held Argogroup sells products for application assurance, service monitoring and handset testing. The company counts over 55 mobile operators as customers. ACTeSys also offers test hardware to mobile carriers, and is based in Stuttgart, Germany.
“This is a strategic purchase of a highly-regarded company with perfectly complementary product lines and skill-sets,” said David Frodsham, Argogroup’s chief executive officer. “ACTeSys is great at engineering stable and scalable hardware while Argogroup brings expertise in application test software and a global sales reach. In this case, one plus one equals three.”
The companies said their combined products will allow operators to test a variety of services including WAP, i-mode, Java, BREW, video streaming, video calling, instant messaging, push to talk and other offerings.
