RCR News Desk at Mobile World Congress: Berkeley Varitronics Systems CEO Scott Schober
Berkeley introduces the new Wolfhound-PRO with DECT 6.0 detection features at Mobile World Congress 2011.

14 February 2011 – RCR Wireless speaks with Berkeley Varitronics’ CEO Scott Schober on the growing problem illegal cell phones are having on mobile services in Europe and how Berkeley’s new Wolfhound PRO, introduced at Mobile World Congress, is addressing network interference and aggravations caused by the illegal use of DECT 6.0 phones in these regions.  The use of illegal US DECT 6.0 phones in Europe has been a growing problem causing significant interference in the up-link bands of the European UMTS licensed services. Network operators throughout Europe have been frustrated in the amount of interference that can cause havoc to their licensed UMTS mobile service from the base station. They certainly hear about this from subscribers when their calls drop from strong interference, but the problem to date has been to isolate the interferer down to the last few hundred feet.
