FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.-GlobeTel Communications Corp. has signed a letter of intent to acquire the assets and operations of Altvater GmbH of Germany.
Altvater supplies wireless hot spots in Europe, with several key cities in Germany, which are the first major locations that are part of a long-term plan to deploy HZ 4000 series networks to 140 cities and towns in Germany without digital subscriber line and cable technologies.
The companies said the proposed acquisition will accelerate the company’s rollout of WiMAX and Wi-Fi systems throughout Europe.
GlobeTel said it will form a new division to be called GlobeTel Wireless through the acquisition.
