KIRKLAND, Wash.-Wavelink Corp. has partnered with Europe’s Wificom Technologies and Aptilo Networks to enable communications service providers to offer wireless Internet access in public areas including airports, coffee shops, hotels and conference centers.
The companies will offer wireless management tools to carriers, including the Wavelink Mobile Manager, to help them deploy, operate and manage hot-spot networks.
“While there is much excitement about continued deployments of public wireless hot spots, the issue of how to manage and maintain these networks on an ongoing basis remains a challenge,” explained David Bullis, president and chief executive officer of Wavelink. “Wavelink is well positioned to enter this emerging market and become the first to address this growing need with hot spot providers.”
