Meru reports certification, interoperability testing

SUNNYVALE, Calif.-Meru Networks announced it has moved a step closer to deploying voice over wireless LAN solutions by achieving Siemens HiPath Ready certification and completing Vocera and Spectralink interoperability testing.

“Receiving certifications from voice application leaders such as Siemens and Vocera underscores our commitment to unwire enterprise applications and increase the ROI for enterprise WLAN deployments,” said Kamal Anand, vice president of sales and marketing for Meru.

Meru’s WLAN system includes the 802.11 Meru Access Point that acts simultaneously as an access point and RF monitor, the Meru Contoller gateway and the Meru System Director embedded software suite. The system also uses Meru’s patent-pending Air Traffic Control technology to minimize throughput loss.

Meru also today announced mall-based retailer Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. is upgrading its wireless communications network at its corporate headquarters to Meru’s WLAN system to manage Wi-Fi data and wireless voice over IP applications.
