LONDON-London-based DAT plc announced it acquired Berlin-based synchronization company Synchronica Software GmbH for around $1.7 million. DAT said the company will continue to operate as a separate entity and under the Synchronica name.
“This is a very positive news for Synchronica, our customers and partners, as Synchronica will continue its successful strategy-only much faster and stronger,” said Carsten Brinkschulte, founder and managing director of Synchronica. “We are excited to join DAT Group plc, which has an excellent track record in the mobile industry, a strong management team and complimentary products.”
Synchronica sells technology for over-the-air synchronization of corporate e-mail, calendar and contacts with more than 150 SyncML-enabled mobile phones. The company’s technology also supports over-the-air firmware updates, allowing operators to remotely install software upgrades into mobile phones.
DAT sells device provisioning and management technologies to wireless carriers, including OTA updating technology.
