Naked news women coming to wireless devices

How’s this for a blockbuster business plan: wireless streaming video combined with the day’s top news combined with naked women? At least that’s the scheme laid out between Internet and TV news company Naked News and The Netherlands-based wireless technology company Icemobile BV. The two firms announced plans to offer Naked News broadcasts to wireless subscribers.

“This is just the next step in a logical progression,” said David Warga, Naked News’ executive producer. “We successfully crossed over from the Internet to television, and now we are moving into the new field of wireless. Wireless today is like the early days of the Internet, and our product is perfect for this medium because it provides short clips of relevant information in a most entertaining package. Wireless is the next great frontier.”

Naked News offers daily broadcasts covering the world’s top stories in news, sports and entertainment. The broadcasts feature slim female newscasters who slowly disrobe while reading the day’s news. Naked News is available through the Internet and on cable TV to 34 million viewers in the United States. Icemobile offers wireless entertainment products and services to carriers, handset makers and others.

Industry analysts have pegged streaming video as one of the wireless market’s major new technologies and have said too that wireless pornography will be a major part of the wireless content market. Indeed, Strategy Analytics predicts wireless porn will generate $1 billion by 2008.
