NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Sprint Nextel Corp. planned to deliver a live country music concert last night with video and audio available to customers on their cell phones.
Artists including Josh Turner, Billy Currington, Julie Roberts and Gary Nichols were scheduled to perform a concert at Nashville’s Rocketown music venue Thursday. Sprint Nextel said the concert would be available free to all CDMA PCS Vision and Power Vision customers who have multimedia phones and data plans.
The concert also will be available on demand to customers after the concert ends, said Sprint Nextel, which partnered with Universal Music Group to bring the concert to subscribers.
Sprint Nextel is offering a variety of content tie-ins with the concert, including ringtones and full-song downloads at the carrier’s Music Store.
