RESTON, Va.-Nextel Communications Inc. signed an agreement with the Las Vegas Monorail Co. to house a 15,000-square-foot theme venue in the Las Vegas Convention Center Station highlighting Nextel products and services. The station is the transfer point for the Las Vegas Convention Center and is part of Las Vegas’ privately funded $650 million monorail system that is scheduled to open early next year.
The venue is expected to include Nextel experts to provide advice and tutorials on Nextel products and services, hands-on interactive video displays, a wireless lounge, a Nextel business theater, concierge services, an open-air balcony with views of the Las Vegas Strip and access to the convention center and monorail.
Nextel also said it will brand-image one of the monorail systems’ nine four-car monorail trains.
