Vodafone-Albania launched its GSM services in Albania on 3 August and has already activated 50 base stations covering the areas of Tirana, Fushe-Kruje, Kruje, Lac, Burrel, Lezhe, Shkoder, Elbasan, Pogradec, Korce, Durres, Shijak, Kavaje, Rrogozhine, Berat, Kucove, Lushnje, Fier, Ballsh, Vlore, Gjirokaster and Sarande.

“This is a requirement Vodafone was expected to complete in three years, according to the license specifications. The expertise of our professionals is outstanding. Currently, a group of over 50 colleagues is working to guarantee a rapid rollout of our network, which will continuously expand our national network coverage. Our aim is to have not only the fastest GSM network rollout, but also the most modern network in Albania,” said Genci Hamzaraj, Vodafone Albania engineering manager.
