BOSTON, United States—The Yankee Group said CDMA technology is secure in China with a projected 55 million subscribers by the end of 2005 and China Unicom being the flagship operator of the technology.
However, there will be challenges.
“As the only major operator in the world running both large-scale GSM and CDMA networks, Unicom has not convinced us how it will tackle the tough task of expanding the two incompatible networks simultaneously,” remarked Larry Wan, analyst with Yankee Group.
