Endwave

Endwave Corp. said its ultra-high performance WavShapr base station antenna is now available for local multipoint distribution services bands. The antenna incorporates characteristics from earlier versions form the 24 GHz and 38 GHz bands. The antennas include flat horizontal radiation pattern, rapid azimuth pattern roll off, ultra-low crosspol pattern and controlled vertical pattern. (408) 522-3100.

Telular

Telular Corp. announced an extension of its Phonecell product line with a new family of products that incorporate fixed wireless technology in a touch-tone phone. Telular Desktop Phones connect wirelessly to existing cellular networks, rather than connecting to a traditional landline, said the company. The new phones include an 800 MHz TDMA version, which has been tested in Latin America, available in November; 900 MHz and 1800 MHz GSM models, which have been tested in Europe and Asia, available in first-quarter 2001; and a 1900 MHz GSM model, available in second-quarter 2001. A dual-band/dual-mode TDMA Desktop Phone has completed testing in the United States and will be available soon, said the company. (847) 247-9400.

Convergys

Convergys Corp. announced availability of its Atlys Release 6.0, a product that provides new functionality to enable global wireless carriers to offer new data services and customer-care capabilities. The Atlys billing and customer care solution offers support for wireless data, wireless IP services and transactional mobile commerce services. Release 6.0 features include GPRS support, IP enablement for billing Internet services including an IP mediation and provisioning gateway, event-based rating, global roaming, “pre-call” prepaid support, enhanced Web-based self-care and internationalization enhancements, said the company. www.convergys.com

Rittal

Rittal Corp. introduced the NEMA 4 type air-to-air heat exchangers for sensitive electronic components housed in an unstable environment. The exchanger is designed to mount on any Rittal enclosure in an external or recessed configuration and use ambient air to cool the temperature inside the enclosure. The NEAM 4 exchangers come standard in 115V, with 230 V and 48 V versions available. www.rittal-corp.com

RF Connectors

RF Connectors announced a new line of reverse polarity/gender and reverse thread connectors. The connectors meet FCC part 15.203 requirements for non-standard coaxial connector compliance. The company said it offers more than 65 reverse polarity, metric threaded and left-hand threaded connectors and adapters. www.rfindustries.com

Tadiran

Tadiran Inc. developed a high energy lithium battery, Pulses Plus, which the company said provides the equivalent energy of lithium batteries twice the size and weight. Pulses Plus uses lithium thionyl chloride chemistry and provides a bobbin-type construction and a hybrid layer capacitor to deliver high pulses in a safer, smaller, lightweight package. www.tadiranbat.com

Hyde Co.

Hyde Co. announced the release of its Spatch SMSC Version 3.0, which supports two-way short messaging service for TDMA and CDMA networks. Cellular and PCS carriers using Spatch SMSC can begin selling a two-way messaging service to subscribers, allowing the subscribers to use their mobile phones to send full text messages to other wireless phones and to reply to messages from other mobile phones or email. www.hydeco.com

Spirent Communications

Spirent Communications said it has integrated its over-the-air tests into its CDMA AirAccess protocol test system. These tests address one of the most complex protocol scenarios in a CDMA network-activating or upgrading a mobile station using only the airlink, the company said. Both mobile-originated over-the-air service provisioning activations and network-originated over-the-air parameter administration updates are easily accomplished via CDMA AirAccess’ graphical user interface. One of the advantages of OTA services is the ability to program or update a preferred roaming list resident in a mobile station’s non-volatile memory, the company said. CDMA AirAccess runs on a Windows NT-based computer and features interactive control over key base station parameters. A real-time bidirectional air interface message analyzer is provided, which can decode and analyze messages at a bit level. (732) 544-8700.

TeleCommunication Systems

TeleCommunication Systems Inc., which develops wireless messaging and data solutions, said it released a newly restructured interface for QueryNet, which provides source- and device-independent content retrieval and delivery. QueryNet is compatible with all major short message service centers and IP gateways, adding significant functionality to transaction-based services and messaging services, including wireless chat and instant messaging. Once the product is installed on carrier networks, end users can access any structured, Internet-addressable content, such as news headlines, weather, sports scores and stock quotes at specific times and trigger points.
