POLICY IS NEEDED TO PROTECT TELE COM FROM TERRORISM

WASHINGTON-President Clinton last week called for the creation of a commission to develop a national policy to protect telecommunications networks and other infrastructures from sabotage.

The action follows recent testimony before Congress by CIA Director John Deutsch, who warned lawmakers that computer networks that control telecommunications, energy distribution, financial services, air traffic control, emergency medical service and transportation may be vulnerable to terrorist attack.
