DALLAS-PageMart Inc. is marketing a new roaming service, infoRoam, which allows paging subscribers to change their coverage area on a short-term basis using an interactive voice response platform, announced the company.
Users can phone in and immediately transfer their local numeric or alphanumeric coverage to any of 1,100 communities in PageMart’s footprint throughout the continental United States, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas and the Virgin Islands.
“Local alphanumeric coverage is $15.95. For just $9 more a month, customers can add roaming capability,” noted Rick Nelson, PageMart’s vice president of marketing.
PageMart is using TekNow Inc.’s PhenX wireless messaging and applications platform. PhenX is a modular wireless data messaging system designed to transport messages and information across wireless networks seamlessly and efficiently using an open architecture.
