More devices announced for market

  • Nokia’s N90, part of the company’s new N-series of multimedia devices, includes a 2-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and VHS-resolution video capture. It should be available during the second quarter.
  • Nokia’s W-CDMA N91 music phone features a 4-gigabyte hard disk, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It should be available by the end of the year.
  • Nokia’s N70, a W-CDMA device, includes a 2-megapixel camera, music player and FM radio. It is set to be available in the third quarter.
  • Verizon Wireless plans to sell the new SCH-n330 from Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. for $70 with a two-year service contract. The phone features a unique pop-up screen, downloadable ringtones and games, and VibeTonz vibration technology from Immersion Corp.
  • Sprint plans to sell the VI-2300 phone from Sanyo Corp. for $190 or $40 with a service agreement. The device features a built-in speakerphone and push-to-talk service, and will be available in six different colors. Sprint also announced it will sell “fashionable phone cases” from handbag designer Dooney & Bourke.
  • Finally, mobile virtual network operator EarthLink Wireless said it expects to sell PalmOne Inc.’s Treo 650 for $600.
